Student Award 2024-2025

KALD 4th Persevering Student Award 2024-2025

Introduction

This award is launched following the efforts of the Ministry of Education to create educated generations capable of dealing with the realities of the modern era and serving themselves and their country. Teachers evaluating students should evaluate the student’s effort and perseverance rather than achievement.

Objectives of the award:

  • Encouraging students with LDs and ADHD to persevere and strive.
  • Spreading a culture of dealing with challenges among students with LD and ADHD and developing positive attitudes toward learning.
  • Directing parents to follow up on their children and enhance their abilities.
  • Strengthening the educational and social bonds between teachers and students.

Terms and conditions:

  • Candidate students must have learning difficulties or other problems (health, social, psychological) and have made a clear effort to deal with them during the previous and current year.
  • The teacher makes a nomination after he has reviewed his record during the past year and the current year through a detailed report explaining the reasons for nominating this student. This report may be supplemented with feedback from the student's other teachers.
  • The school administration approves the nomination.
  • Each school nominates two students (of each gender in the case of Co-ed schools) from the end of each academic stage:
(Fifth grade - ninth grade - twelfth grade)

Areas of evaluation:

  • The student's effort to overcome his problem and improve his performance and achievement.

The role of participating schools:

  • Introduce the award (goals, terms, and steps) to the teachers as soon as possible.
  • Teachers nominate two students (two of each gender in Co-ed schools) from each class and submit a written report on the reasons for the nomination.
  • Dates of submission of reports to the award committee are from 2 – 13 March.
  • The award committee will visit schools to meet with the nominated students and their teachers in April.
  • Results will be announced during a ceremony attended by officials, dignitaries, and all the nominated students and their parents in early June.
