Learning disabilities (LD) falls under an umbrella of various learning difficulties. The LD, Attention Deficiency Disorder (ADD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is not related to intelligence, it is a matter of how the brain is wired differently. The difference affects how children, with LD, receive and process information. Most common types of LD involve problems with reading, writing, math, reasoning, listening, speaking, fitting in, projecting negative behaviors, and overall low self-esteem. The high cost of early intervention, including diagnosis, can be a financial burden on many parents. In result, many parents feel discouraged to seek professional help, as the screening ranges from 600 - 280 Kuwaiti Dinars. Therefore, many parents unknowingly deprive their children from a great chance towards a successful future. Here is where Kuwaiti Association for Learning Differences (KALD) took the initiative to contribute to this cause, by helping as many children in the program as possible.
